Module 4- Eat-And-Move-O-Matic

The app that I chose to do for the final blog post is Eat-And-Move-O-Matic. This app is for free on the iTunes App Store. It tells the user from what they eat how much exercise they will have to do in order to work the food off.  This is a great app for Health teachers to use to show their students how much what they eat impacts how much they should exercise and the importance of exercise.

How this apps works is simple. On the left hand side of the screen, it shows different food options that you can from. It also shows how many calories are in that food. On the right hand side of the screen, it shows what movement/exercise you can do in order to burn off the calories. For example, the picture below shows that if you were to eat one bean and cheese burrito, which is about 379 calories, you could do one hour and forty-eight minutes of medium-impact exergames, which will burn all 379 calories.

This app is easy for anyone to use, even if the user has a disability. All the user has to do is  swipe their finger across the two choices and it will calculate the amount of time for them. Even younger children are able to use this app and it will teach them how to live much healthier lifestyles.

This is a great app overall for students and teachers all of age groups to use and help improve their life. The added perk of using this app is that it is for free.

Module 3- Endless Reader

The next education technology app that I chose to write about is Endless Reader. Endless Reader is a great app for younger children to help them reading and spelling. The game is adorable and gets the child involved in learning. The app starts by giving you one word such as "all". It shows you the word, then it breaks it apart and make you match the letters to spell the word. Then, you have to match the words to create a sentence. It reads the sentence out loud and has a video to show the meaning of the sentence.

This app is a great app for younger child learning to read and write. It also keeps the learner focused on the activity. Teachers could use this app for students learning to read for the first time or for students who are using English as a second language. Students who have learning disabilities, this app could help them improve their spelling and reading skills. This app is easy for child from ages probably starting between 3-5 years old and on.

Overall, this app is great for learning or even improving one's reading a spelling skills. It is easy and entertaining. The characters enhance the experience and are super cute. So, if you are looking for a reading and spelling app for your younger children, Endless Reader is the way to go. It is free and it is available on the App Store for Apple. Download it now!

Module 2- SAT Vocab by MindSnacks

The education tool I chose to review for my next blog post is SAT Vocab by MindSnacks. This tool is used to prep high school students for the SAT. Apple claims SAT Vocab to be one of the best educational apps of the year. What better way to study for the SAT than by playing games?  This game includes 9 different games to help prep the students for the test. In order to start, all you have to do is create a profile using either your Facebook or an e-mail.
In the first lesson, which is free before you need to do an upgrade, it gives you a walk through of what needs to be done in the lesson. First, you are given for each word a pronunciation. Next, definitions are given and you are now ready to play the first game called "Swell". In "Swell", you have to describe the word given before the time runs out. You have ten seconds to describe the word correctly and choose the right word between two.
I believe that this app is an useful prep tool that could help students get ready to take the SAT. It is fun and easy for everyone to use and it's free. The one problem that I have with this app is that in order to get more in depth with your studying, you have pay for an upgrade. It would be a lot better if all the lessons were free and available for the students to use. Overall, I believe this app is a great one for all students who are preparing to take the SAT to have.

Module 1- Fooducate

The app Fooducate is used to inform the user about making healthier eating habits and helps the user if they are using the app to lose weight, to reach their weight loss goal. This app can be brought in the app store and it is for free, unless you want to update it for more features which could be helpful. When you first download the app it will ask you to create a profile or sign in using Facebook. I chose to set up a profile since I do not have a Facebook. It asks simple questions about who you are and then asks are you here to lose weight. If you choose yes, it will help you set up a goal for you to reach and how much you will have to lose on a weekly basis. Then, it is time to explore the app.
With the Fooducate app, the use can look up food and see where they can buy it and the nutritional value of the food. Also, the app allows the user to track the food the have eaten and even supplies them with healthy recipes for the user to try out at home. The app is very user friendly and if you are having any difficulty using it, you are able to message fellow users and ask for assistance.
For me, this app is easy to use but, I would have wished that the feature involving food allergies was free since I am allergic to milk. The app gave me plenty of healthy options and provide me with a tracker to help me lose weight. Fooducate also provides comments by other users and rates the products to see how good they taste and the pricing. This app is available in the App Store on Apple devices and I enjoyed that it was free to use and downloaded quickly. Overall, the Fooducate app is a great for someone who is trying their absolute hardest to eat healthier and lose weight.
