The education tool I chose to review for my next blog post is SAT Vocab by MindSnacks. This tool is used to prep high school students for the SAT. Apple claims SAT Vocab to be one of the best educational apps of the year. What better way to study for the SAT than by playing games? This game includes 9 different games to help prep the students for the test. In order to start, all you have to do is create a profile using either your Facebook or an e-mail.
In the first lesson, which is free before you need to do an upgrade, it gives you a walk through of what needs to be done in the lesson. First, you are given for each word a pronunciation. Next, definitions are given and you are now ready to play the first game called "Swell". In "Swell", you have to describe the word given before the time runs out. You have ten seconds to describe the word correctly and choose the right word between two.
I believe that this app is an useful prep tool that could help students get ready to take the SAT. It is fun and easy for everyone to use and it's free. The one problem that I have with this app is that in order to get more in depth with your studying, you have pay for an upgrade. It would be a lot better if all the lessons were free and available for the students to use. Overall, I believe this app is a great one for all students who are preparing to take the SAT to have.
What are the types of games? Can you set up various levels? I would like to see more description of your experiences with this.
